Primary Talent Show

Penny participated in her 1st Primary Talent Show. She colored a picture and was so excited to put it on display. She kept asking all day "is it time for the talent show". It was a very cute show with kids singing, dancing, drawing pictures, cooking, playing instruments. Penny even went up on stage all by herself and talked about her picture and how colorful it was and that it was Minnie Mouse, one of her favorites. But because of all the musically talented kids, she now wants to play an instrument. She kept asking "when can I play my instrument." She had a lot of fun and really enjoys her Primary activities.

Zoo

We got blessed with a great week of weather. So I decided it was time to take the girls to the zoo before summer hits and it is way to hot to go. I even had a coupon to get Penny in for free but as I was standing in line to buy tickets a woman came up to me and said her friend couldn't make it and that she had a zoo pass. She is able to get 4 adults in for free and 7 kids and she was generous enough to share her pass with us. So it was a double bonus of great weather and getting in for free. We had lots of fun and saw lots of animals awake and playing.
Penny had a hard time spotting the animals if she didn't know what it looked like, so she looked at the pictures and then tried to find it.
Ava was an awesome baby even if she did get tired. The girl wouldn't take a nap even after she had a bottle, I guess there was just too much going on.
The tiger was up and walking around.
The lions were awake just not moving
The rhino was eating his hay breakfast.
Ava got to relax and didn't even try hold her bottle.

We got real close to zebras and their cute baby.

We ate lunch next to a group of pelicans. They didn't even bother us, it was the ducks that started to invade and beg for food.
The girls made new friends.
Penny had fun on the spider web playground. This was the 1st thing she asked me about when I told her we were going to the zoo. I guess she remembered it from last time.
The girls had so much fun. We love the zoo.
Ava was smiling at all the people passing by saying " oh goodness, look how cute she is."

Ava 11 Months

Oh Ava Ava, you are now all over the place. You know how to get around the house and move by holding onto the wall or couch with a little crawling in between. If the bathroom door is open you make a break for it. You have started to push any toy or piece of furniture that you can and try to walk with it e.i. music table, basket of toys, kitchen stool or chair, stroller, shopping cart. You have started to develop quite the demanding attitude. You grunt or whine when you want to be picked up or when you want food and nobody is sharing. You have started to grab legs and hold on until they pick you up or put your face on their legs and let go with you hands. You love to go outside and when you door is open you move as fast as you can. When someone goes outside without you, you get so broken hearted. You have learned what no means and when I say it you get a sad face and hurt feelings, but then you try to be sneaky and not listen. You have discovered doors and love to open and close them. You love music and have learned how to dance. You bounce and sway and shake your arms. You have learned to open books and love to turn the pages. You give kisses and hugs and love to baby dolls. You give slobbery kisses to mom or Penny. You like to cuddle and hold your blanket and binkie when you get tired or don't feel good. You like to wrestle and be lifted into the air when playing. You are learning how to play chase and crawl or run along the wall then look back and laugh to make sure someone is still coming after you. You are becoming a problem solver while playing with toys, you are learning and remembering which toys make noise and have lights and sing songs. You have started to make more talking sounds and babble. You know how to uh oh and try to say all done after eating. You only say momma when you cry or get very upset. You now drink bottle and out of sippy cups. You beg for food even after you have eaten your food all gone. You wave hello when you come into a room or when you see someone you recognize. You can be hyper and make lots of noise but then you can also be shy and quite and very sweet.

You didn't want to crawl on the grass or the rocks and you couldn't get your foot over the border, so you figured out a way to move. You have become quite the problem solver when trying to move around things or get somewhere.

You do not like grass. You screamed when I left you here and would not put you hands down. You didn't know what to do because there was nothing to grab onto and you wouldn't crawl. You tried to figure a way out but just didn't know what to do.

Penny is such a great sister. She is great at playing with you and sharing and always concerned when you are crying. Sometimes Penny is the cause of making you cry but then she always says sorry and tries to make you feel better. You love to see where she is and have now tried to play with her and her toys. You really admire and look up to her.
You two always have fun and make each other laugh. You are very good friends and get along really well. You both get concerned about each other when one of you gets hurt or is unhappy. I pray that your love and friendship will continue to grow and become stronger and that you will always be there to support and help each other.

Happy Easter

We had a great Easter weekend. Filled with fun and family and treats and remembering our wonderful Savior and the love he has for us.
It started with a trip to Easter Bunny. Penny was excited and Ava got a little nervous. The mall pictures were so expensive, so I had to go outside the gate to take my own. It is more of a side shot, but I think it turned out pretty cute.
Then while Ava napped we colored eggs. This was Penny's 1st time and she was really happy. She couldn't wait to see what was going to happen to the eggs.
Patiently waiting for the color tablets to dissolve.
She was such a big girl and lifted the eggs out slowly and didn't touch them with her fingers.

I think putting sticker on the eggs was her favorite part. This girl loves stickers.
Penny did a great job decorating the eggs. They were so colorful and we had a fun time.
Later in the afternoon Penny got to do a little Easter egg hunt. She didn't really know what to do at first but once she found the first egg she got the point and found the other eggs quickly. She did need some help finding, but did a pretty good job looking.

Ava went for the volleyball, but hey she was on the right track, it is really colorful just like the eggs.

The girls playing with and eating their treats.
Ava found the good stuff and was just fine chewing on the wrapper.

On Sunday we dressed up in our yellow and orange and enjoyed church. What a wonderful blessing the Savior has given us through the Atonement and it is so great to know that we have His constant love and comfort throughout our lives.

The girls found their Easter treats after church and were very excited. They got candy, bunny masks, dolls, coloring books, stamps, finger puppets.

Ava finally got a baby and gave kisses and hugs.
Penny was beyond excited to get her pirate spyglass. She said "oh mom, I just knew it was my spyglass."

Happy Easter!!!
